do you ever have those moments where you realise there is an incredibly essential item missing from your wardrobe? a strange feeling of injustice just came over me when i realised i dont own a red cape a la little red riding hood.
if anyone spots a little red hood roaming the wood looking for an owner please let me know.

treacherous catwalks
love child....
If brooke sheilds and winona had a baby, i think it would look exactly like my wonderful friend olivia
what do you think?
what do you think?
My hat’s off to you...
Today, over cups of Max Brenner hot chocolate, my friends and I were lamenting the fact that you really can’t wear hats in Sydney without looking like a bit of a douche. One friend even went so far as to say the thing she missed most about living in Europe was the freedom to wear hats without persecution! My one gripe with Sydney fashion is the obsession with being super casual (I blame ksubi), and the adverse reaction to anyone who looks like they've made an effort.
Hats off to these ladies who managed to wear their hats so well... don' they look adorable!

My friend Katie Turnbull ,a talented digital media artist, has decided to start making headpieces with her sister Rosie, I have already commissioned her to make me something like this:
I think Isabella Blow would give me a nod of approval:
ship to shore
pirates have always been a much-loved and frequent source of inspiration in fashion. it's partly the mystique, it's partly the rebellion, it's partly the debauchery and... well they're just plain badass. the english term "pirate" is derived from the latin term pirata, and ultimately from greek peira "attempt, experience". travel and adventure are the key to the pirate's inspiration and energy.
here are some of my favourite plunderers on the catwalk (n.b. the pirate brides!).

anna vs carine: where it all began...
Carine
Born in Paris on 19 September 1954. "But I am not French. I am Parisian. I don't love the French."
Her father, Jacques Roitfeld, was a Russian film producer.
Her mother was, according to Carine, a "very classic Frenchwoman."
She describes her upbringing as "very bourgeois. I'm not saying we were in diamonds, but very, very comfortable."
Carine was very competitive at school until the age of 16. Then everything changed. She "got bored" and discovered nightclubs.
At 18, Roitfeld began modeling. "I was not a big model. My face was too much in advance"
Anna
Born November 3, 1949 in London.
Her father, Charles Vere Wintour, CBE, was an editor of The Evening Standard.
Her mother, Eleanor ("Nonie") Trego Baker, the daughter of a Harvard law professor.
Anna's childhood has been described as "silver spoon"
She has had her signature haircut since she was 14. Her first fashion job was as a retail assistant at the famous boutique Biba at age of 15.
She dropped out of North London Collegiate School at the age of 16, where she frequently rebelled against the dress code by taking up her skirts. She had a habit of dating well-connected older men.
